Ecuador entrusted Ineco with the technical, legal and financial structuring of the E-20 road between Santo Domingo and Esmeraldas.

In recent years Ecuador has overcome an economic recession and adopted a series of political reforms which have helped to boost the country's economy and consequently the quality of life of its citizens.

The Government of Ecuador is committed to developing and improving the transport facilities to endow the country with a healthy economic structure. For this reason the Ministry of Transport and Public Works entrusted Ineco with the technical, legal and financial structuring tasks for concession of the road between Santo Domingo in the north-central area of the country and Esmeraldas in the northeast.

A key section for the country's development

Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas is the fourth largest city in Ecuador in terms of population, the political capital of the province and one of the country's most important political, cultural, financial, administrative and commercial centres. Esmeraldas, on the other hand, is one of Ecuador's most important ports and is among its most popular tourist destinations.

The 170 kilometre long Santo Domingo-Esmeraldas section is a response to the area's long standing road problems. Given its connection with the Esmeraldas seaport, the main objective is to extend and modernise the road infrastructure and the service which this corridor provides within the framework of the country's network.

By improving this road the Ineco team contributes to the productive development of the two provinces.

The company has also been working actively to modernise and develop the country's transport system for years and for this purpose it has been engaged in drawing up the Ecuador´s National Transport and Mobility Plan since 2011.
