Ineco is developing a contract to provide consulting services for the planning, programming, coordination and administrative, technical, legal and environmental management for the implementation of the Transportation Infrastructure Program (PIT) launched by the Costa Rican government. Its objective is to modernize the country's road and port infrastructure, reduce costs and travel times for people and goods, and increase road safety. The Road Infrastructure and Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships Program (PIV-APP) complements the PIT with other infrastructure and transportation projects also financed by the IDB.
The PIT and the PIT-APP are part of the 2011-2035 National Transportation Plan to promote infrastructure improvements in Costa Rica and include projects for the conservation and progressive improvement of the strategic road network to facilitate the mobility of people and goods and thus facilitate trade flows and economic integration in the country.
The Government of the Republic of Costa Rica is making a major effort to improve the country's infrastructure. A further step towards improving this situation is the development of the PIT and the PIV-APP, which have several strategic road and port projects, including master plans, designs and construction.
