Award Ceremony of the II Contest of Distinctions for Excellence in Engineering Student Practices

The assembly hall of the Engineering Institute of Spain (IIE) has hosted the awards ceremony of the II Contest of Distinctions for Excellence in Engineering Student Practices, promoted by Ineco, the IIE and REDFUE.

The ceremony, opened by Valentín Gómez, vicepresident of the IIE, has highlighted the high level of all the participants and their works presented and had recognized the efforts of the participants to overcome all contingencies derived from COVID-19 and mitigate its effects.

The second edition of these awards represents the consolidation of a collaboration that affects the search for excellence in the process of carrying out business practices. A recognition supported by a cycle of theoretical and practical teachings that allows training future engineers and reinforcing the prestige of Spanish engineering. The Engineering and Consultancy General Director of Ineco, Ana Rojo, closed the meeting together with the vice president of REDFUE, Fernando Martínez, highlighting that: "engineering has constituted, constitutes, and will continue to constitute an authentic lever of social transformation". In addition, he pointed out to all the participants that: “your participation in this contest highlights that you have an entrepreneurial spirit that makes a different. Your work shows the intensity of the vocation that engineering awakens in you. The passion and talent with which you have developed them guarantee that you have a bright future ahead of you."

The first prize in this second edition has gone to Andrea González Romero. Honorable mentions were awarded to Ignacio Valero and Aarón García.
