Challenges for the railways of the future

Our colleague María Carpio, an expert in air quality and climate change, has participated in the III Railway Seminar in Aguascalientes (Mexico).

In her speech, dedicated to sustainability and in which she highlighted the value of the European Union's mechanisms to face the challenges in this mode of transport, she stressed that: "rail transport must be one of the essential tools to achieve sustainability and meet the objectives of mitigating and adapting to climate change".

Our presence in the country goes back more than 20 years, participating in strategic projects such as the Buenavista-Cuautitlán Suburban Railway, the management of Line 12, the Guadalajara-Colima highway or the master development plans of the Pacific Airport Group (GAP), together with institutional partners and local consortiums. For eleven years, our company has also had a subsidiary in the country, Inecomex.

Spain, the guest country, plays a leading role in this edition of the seminar, organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport  (SICT) and the Government of the State of Aguascalientes (Mexico), which brought together representatives of professional associations, technical societies, academic institutions and companies from November 3 to 5.
