Inaugurated by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, the new Cádiz Bay Tramway Train (Trambahía) was launched today, in which Ineco has contributed its expertise in rolling stock for the manufacture and commissioning of the train. The work performed included design validation and monitoring of manufacturing and commissioning, independent safety assessment of commissioning, certification of compliance with the Technical Specification for the Approval of Self-propelled Equipment, and vehicle authorisation.

"Thanks to this project, Cádiz becomes a pioneer in rail mobility by being the first Spanish city to have trams running on the state railway network," explained Raquel Sánchez after the maiden trip.

The train route, from Chiclana de la Frontera to Cádiz, is 24.3 km long and will have 21 operational stops. This infrastructure will improve mobility in the area under the premises of efficiency in terms of service provision, reduction of travel times, increase of frequencies, rationalisation of energy consumption and reduction of polluting and acoustic emissions.
