Ineco at the European BIM Summit 2016

The president of Ineco, Jesús Silva, have participated in the 2016 European BIM Summit, held in Barcelona on the 18 and 19 February. The second European Building Information Modelling (BIM) summit has brought together the main actors in the sector to analyse the most interesting experiences and the latest advances in this new working method based on the management of information generated throughout the life cycle of a building project.

The president inaugurated the technical sessions in a round table which reviewed the current state of BIM in Spain. On that subject, the launch of es.BIM, the national BIM strategy being implemented by the Ministry of Public Works with Ineco’s support, is paving the way to the incorporation of BIM into the Spanish administration. Noelia Alonso, who is currently coordinating the GT-5 International Group within the es.bim Commission, also participated in debates, offering her view on the methodology’s maturation.

This annual conference is organised by the Barcelona College of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers, BIM Academy and the BuildingSMART Spanish Chapter. It has become a point of reference for actors in the construction and engineering sector to meet, discover the latest BIM news in and share methodologies and international alignment.
