Ineco joins forces with SEPES to promote “Operation Campamento”

Seven Ineco professionals are working alongside the SEPES (State Land Institute) team in the study and promotion of the technical aspects of "Operation Campamento" in Madrid. With very diverse profiles, our team covers everything from graphic design to urban planning management, including environmental, sustainability and engineering aspects, and reinforces, with its experience, the work that the public land agency, which depends on the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has been carrying out for months.

Ineco incorporates its cross-cutting and innovative vision in this urban regeneration and public housing policy action. This work will make it possible to achieve other improvement objectives for the city of Madrid as a whole, such as improving connectivity, developing new facilities and services and contributing to the north-south territorial rebalancing.

“Operation Campamento" is one of the most important projects at national level, both for its size and its specific weight within the Affordable Rental Housing Plan, promoted by the Spanish Government. In October 2022, a collaboration protocol was formalised between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for the sale of the military land, which SEPES will develop and facilitate the construction of more than 11,000 homes, of which at least 60% will be subsidised.

This plan aims to reduce the effects of the imbalances in the housing rental market in certain areas of the national territory where this market is particularly strained, and which cause great difficulty in accessing housing due to the shortage of supply and the consequent increase in prices.
