The European Aviation Safety Agency, EASA, has organised the 'Drone Operations Safety Assessment in ASEAN MS' workshop in which Ineco has participated as leader of the drone initiatives within the ARISE Plus Civil Aviation project

A workshop that took place in Bali from the 28th to the 30th of June and was attended by aviation authorities from the ASEAN countries (Association of South East Asian Nations). Ineco, a company integrated in the consortium led by Bureau Veritas, is in charge of leading the initiatives in the area of drones within the ARISE Plus Civil Aviation project and developed by EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency. Our colleague Víctor Gordo is responsible for the area and the 'Lead Drone Expert' in the project.

Ineco has been in charge of coordinating the contents of the workshop and has made different presentations on the SORA safety study methodology for drone operations in a specific category, the standard scenarios (STS) and predefined risk studies (PDRA), developed by EASA to facilitate the authorisation of this type of operations. These presentations have been complemented by those made by AustroControl on how this type of authorisation request is managed and analysed by a national Aviation Authority, offering ASEAN countries a panoramic view of the safety assessments for medium risk drone operations and authorisation processes.

Ineco, as part of the consortium led by Bureau Veritas, was awarded the EASA “Aviation related consultancy in support to International Cooperation activities” framework contract in December 2020. As part of this framework contract, Ineco was awarded a contract in October 2021 to support EASA in this ARISE Plus Civil Aviation Project.

ARISE+ is a 5-year program with the aim of facilitating the regional integration of the 10 ASEAN member countries. For this reason, the ARISE Plus Civil Aviation project, developed by EASA, attempts to improve connectivity and sectoral cooperation in Transport, promoting the ASEAN Single Aviation Market.
