Jesús Silva, President of Ineco, has attended the business meeting between SICA (Central American Integration System) and Spain, that has taken place in Ciudad de Guatemala. The event sees the presence of the President of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, and the Presidents of Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Panama; as well as the Ministers of Economy of SICA’s member countries, and the Secretary of State for Spanish Commerce, Jaime García-Lagaz, among other authorities.

During the meeting, SICA has asked for our experience in order to provide them with technical support for the Central American integration process, in which the actions designed to improve intermodality, connectivity and the projects’ technical alignment are considered strategic.

Formed on December, 1993, SICA is integrated by Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Belize and the Dominican Republic. Spain, along with other countries, plays the role of extraregional observer of this institution.
