Ineco will develop an institutional stregthening programme for EPL

Projects
Brazil

Ineco has signed an agreement of technical cooperation with the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) to define an institutional strengthening strategy for EPL (Empresa de Planejamiento e Logistica) in Brazil. The works will focus on the development of new transport management models, especially for railways.

Thus, the model for railway management is going to be revised and transformed into a kind of Open Access , similar to the European model, where infrastructure and operator are different agents. The works to be developed will focus on creating new rules that will need to be followed by the railway operators, the definition of the new framework in terms of safety and circulation that will regulate the model en proposal of standardisation of signaling and telecommunication systems of the whole network. The project will redefine the regulation framework of almost the whole 30.000 km of the current network, as well as more than 10.000 km of new tracks.

Moreover, in the area of river transport, a new model will be developed to identify in which routes this mode can be competitive.

To Ineco, this project means an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with EPL and secure the positioning of our company as a reference in transport planning in Brazil, a country of great dimensions that needs a modernization of its logistic and transport network to accompany its economic growth.
