Rail Baltica
High-speed rail linking the Baltic States to the Trans-European Transport Network

870 km in total length

5.8 billions of euros

Ineco is participating in the development of the Rail Baltica project, a modern high-speed rail corridor that will link the Baltic republics with the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-t). The new infrastructure will connect Poland with Finland via Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with a double-track railway line of 870 kilometres in total length (213 in Estonia, 265 in Latvia and 392 in Lithuania).

The company is leading, in consortium with the Spanish engineering firm Ardanuy, the design and supervision of a 94 km European gauge section, which links the city of Vangazy, northwest of Riga, with the Estonian border, and includes relevant and complex infrastructures such as 13 bridges, 36 road viaducts and 3 railway viaducts, among others.

On the other hand, together with IDOM engineering, it has carried out the design and supervision of the 56-kilometre high-speed section, which in the city of Riga consists of three subsections: Upeslejas - Riga central station; Tonsakalns-Imanta and Riga - Misa river international airport.

In addition, the company has developed different studies related to the definition of a strategy for the implementation of the energy system and maintenance facilities on a global scale on the entire line.
