Our company (Ineco and Inecomex) will carry out, together with Renfe and the German company DB Engineering & Consulting, the shadow operator tasks for the Mexican Tren Maya.
The Shadow Operator will be in charge of reviewing the basic engineering of the entire project, defining the operation requirements and the technical specifications of the rolling stock and railway systems, verifying that the maintenance requirements are consistent with the approach of the operations plan.
Likewise, the Shadow Operator will advise Fonatur throughout the tendering process for the acquisition of the rolling stock and railway systems (signalling, communications and control posts) from the preparation of the specifications, support during the tendering process, supervision of the manufacture, delivery and commissioning of the rolling stock, including workshops and depots, to the commissioning and commercial service of the passenger rail transport operation.
The contract is worth 13.5 million euros.
With the Tren Maya project, Ineco joins the group of companies with services known as shadow operators, increasingly in demand by the world's railway operating authorities, and positions itself for other similar opportunities such as the operation of the California High Speed Train or the shadow operator of Rail Baltica.
This award reinforces and strengthens Ineco's presence on five continents.
