Ineco has taken part in a new edition of CONEIA, the National Congress on Environmental Impact Assessment, which took place in Cáceres. Carmen Togores, Elena Curto, María Carpio and Luis de Celis, from the Environment and Territory area management, have been our representatives in this 11th edition with three presentations in two communication sessions about policies, regulation and adaptation to climate change and environmental monitoring, new technologies and success stories.

With "Infraestructuras del transporte. Efectos del cambio normativo. (Transport infrastructures. Effects of the regulatory change)", Carmen Togores has given a detailed analysis of the future changes foreseen in the Environmental Impact Assessment Law (EIA), currently in the public information resolution phase, which will have a direct impact on the planning and investment of transport infrastructure projects, especially those projects that seek to benefit from the financing of the European Next Generation funds.

On the other hand, Elena Curto and María Carpio presented "Adaptación al cambio climático en infraestructuras del transporte (Adaptation to climate change in transport infrastructure)". The integration of climate change into State regulations has progressed in recent years and has been incorporated into numerous legal requirements. Within the climate change variable, adaptation proposes a preventive approach to present and future climate conditions, considering that the effects of climate change are already being experienced and will increase, according to current scientific evidence. During the session, the methodology developed by Ineco to assess the current and future state of transport infrastructure with respect to climate change projections and its effects has been presented. This methodology proposes adaptation measures to be taken into account in the design of projects to minimize the effects assessed and reduce their vulnerability.

Finally, Luis de Celis presented "IA Gemelo Digital: entorno digital para la evaluación ambiental de infraestructuras sostenibles y resilientes (EIA Digital Twin: digital environment for the environmental assessment of sustainable and resilient infrastructure)". A tool that allows keeping track of the evaluation process from its planning phase, impact statement and subsequent construction, showing the designs of each phase and integrating detailed spatial information, along with documentary information in an evolving environment. Digital EIA makes easier the impact assessment process and the design of mitigation measures, as well as the visualisation of the integration of the infrastructure into the environment. This environment improves analysis in decision making, public consultation, and all subsequent design and implementation phases.

Ineco's participation in this national forum highlights the company's commitment to the environment and its extensive knowledge and experience in sustainable development projects in the field of transport infrastructure, an area in which it is a leader thanks to its great team of professionals.
