Ecuador signs a transport agreement with Spain

Ana Pastor, Minister of Public Works, supported by Pablo Vázquez, chairman of Ineco, signed a collaboration agreement on the 1st of November in Quito with her counterpart in Ecuador, María de los Ángeles Duarte, to promote cooperation between both Ministries in management of transport and infrastructure development.

The Minister of Public Works outlined that the signing of this agreement will encourage a greater Spanish participation in the Strategic Mobility Plan, and emphasised on the “challenge for tourism” and the importance of transport for the development of this sector.

Moreover, Ana Pastor, after acknowledging Ineco´s international work especially in Ecuador, expressed her gratitude to Minister Duarte for the opportunity and trust put in Ineco which, with a team of over 40 people, is carrying out important projects such as the Strategic Mobility Plan 2013-2037, with a budget of 118,400 million dollars.

From her part, María de los Ángeles Duarte also gave public thanks to Minister Pastor and chairman Pablo Vázquez for the professionalism, dedication and responsibility with which Ineco is working, and outlined that the technical support delivered by the company was crucial in the decision making and growth of transport infrastructures in the country.

Making the most out of their time in Ecuador, the Minister and Pablo Vázquez organised a breakfast meeting with managers of the Spanish companies working in Ecuador, and encounters with the Deputy Mayer of Quito, Jorge Albán, and managers of public entities belonging to the Council like Metro de Quito, Empresa Pública de Movilidad y Obras Públicas (Public Company for Mobility and Public Works). Lastly, they visited the Phase 1 works at the Quito´s metro, accompanied by representatives from Metro de Quito and the Spanish companies working on this project.
