Through the es.BIM initiative, Ineco and BuildingSmart have organised "BIM, the future of infrastructure”, a conference held at the Madrid College of Civil Engineers (CICCP).

Ineco’s president Jesús Silva and CICCP vice-president José Polimón opened this event, whose aim was to demonstrate the application of BIM methodology, typically associated with the field of construction, for civil and infrastructure engineering, showcasing real examples both in the design and the construction phases.

The event, which featured presentations from representatives of Ineco, Arup, Ferrovial, the European University of Madrid and Building Smart International InfraRoom, also dealt with other subjects. These included the use of OpenBIM open formats as instrument to ensure interoperability between different actors and tools, and the current developmental state of these formats.
