Ineco gave two presentations at BIMEXPO, held between 25th and 28th October in Madrid. The aim of the event was to evaluate the solutions, services, network and knowledge industry as a whole, for all professionals involved in the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) as a collaborative working technology in the design, planning, construction and maintenance process.

Jorge Torrico, Project Subdirector; and Elena Puente, Manager of the linear projects department, represented Ineco at the event with two presentations: "the implementation of BIM in Spain" and "the use of BIM in High Speed Infrastructure".

Ineco has a key role in the implementation of BIM methodology in Spain, as the coordinator of es.BIM, a commission established by the Spanish Ministry of Public Works which includes representatives from both the public and private sectors.This initiative endeavours to promote the use of this methodology throughout infrastructure life cycles, to raise awareness among public administrations concerning the establishment of BIM requirements in infrastructure tenders, to establish a timeline for adapting regulations to the generalised use of BIM, to develop national standards that allow for its uniform use, to create an academic map for BIM training in Spain and to facilitate its introduction into university curricula.
