Ineco, the engineering firm of the MITMA Group (Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda), has launched the solidarity initiative Conectad@s, which will benefit 85 nursing homes throughout Spain. More than 6,500 elderly people, currently isolated by the mobility restrictions, will be able to communicate with their loved ones thanks to tablets donated by the company.

This initiative has also been made possible thanks to the effort and commitment of Ineco's professionals, whose contributions have doubled the number of tablets financed by the company. In addition, each donated mobile device will have a sponsor from the company who will volunteer to teach and collaborate - remotely - on how to use the video-conferencing application.

Thanks to the campaign launched on social networks and on the company's website on March 25, with a registration period open until Tuesday 31, this initiative has reached all of Spain, with Ineco ultimately covering 100% of the requests made.

In order for this solidarity project to enable all of the elderly of the nursing homes that benefit from it to have this means of communication as soon as possible, the first tablets were sent on Wednesday 1 April, and the distribution of the devices is expected to be completed over the next few days.

Through this project, Ineco is trying to do its part in the fight against loneliness during the COVID-19 quarantine, in the hopes that this initiative will make it easier for the elderly and their families to stay in constant communication.
