Ineco has participated in the conference that the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in London has organized together with the National Infrastructure Commission of the United Kingdom to analyze large infrastructure projects in the country.

The meeting brought together representatives of engineering and construction in Spain with experience in this territory, and also from the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC), which is responsible for advising the British government on the challenges facing the United Kingdom in terms of infrastructure. This agency is currently preparing a comprehensive report with recommendations for the future development of infrastructure programs in the country.

Following the introduction of this work by James Heath, CEO of NIC, and Jonny Saks, (Chief Economist), a panel discussion was held to discuss how these programs are being delivered in the UK by the stakeholders involved and their impact on costs.

Ineco's report on High Speed

Carlos Cubillo, manager of the International Business Department at Ineco, highlighted the aspects set out a few months ago in the Report on Efficiency in the Spanish High Speed Program prepared by our company and which apply directly to our experience in the country in projects such as HS2, the British high speed rail network, and the Silvertown Tunnel.

In this model of Spanish success, Carlos Cubillo has highlighted the agile and efficient management of the planning and design stages, the specific aspects of contract and resource management, and the efficient approach to the division into engineering and construction lots appropriate to the capacity of the market at any given time. Aspects that are possible thanks to the high technical capacity of the public companies in charge of the development of high-speed rail in Spain.
