Ineco Shows the Future of Engineering with Drone Flight Workshop at Civil Engineering Week

May 28, 2025

As part of the Civil Engineering Week (SICMA 2025), Ineco has conducted one of the most innovative and educational activities of the programme: a drone flight workshop in the very heart of Madrid, which has allowed attendees to experience first-hand how this technology can transform multiple engineering disciplines.

The demonstration, carried out on Madrid's Gran Vía, consisted of the flight of a drone that captured aerial images in real time. These images were processed on-site to detect vehicles and calculate traffic flows, demonstrating the added value of applying visual intelligence and data processing to real urban mobility problems.

Technology 100% developed at Ineco

The entire system (from flight control to data processing and visualisation) has been fully developed by Ineco's teams. The software includes tools to geotag images, transmit the information through the company's secure servers, and process it in real time for analysis and graphical representation.

This in-house development demonstrates Ineco's commitment to applied innovation, turning emerging technologies into practical solutions serving engineering, sustainability, and the improvement of urban quality of life.

A cross-cutting tool with great potential

During the workshop, it was highlighted that drones can be used in any engineering speciality (infrastructure, environment, energy, transport, logistics) to carry out measurements, inspections, monitoring or field detections. Whether for collecting real-time data or for post-processing tasks, its versatility allows for optimising processes, reducing human risks, and improving the efficiency of complex projects.

This workshop brought technology closer to the general public. In a busy and accessible urban environment, Ineco has demonstrated how drones, used responsibly and safely, do not pose risks to the public, but rather offer opportunities to obtain precise information from previously unthinkable perspectives. Its integration into everyday life will become increasingly significant, from traffic management to environmental monitoring or emergencies.

Ineco leads the newly created SIAM Cluster (Spanish Innovative Air Mobility), an initiative launched at the beginning of 2024 that brings together companies, research centres, and public entities with the aim of positioning Spain as a leader in innovative air mobility.
