Digital transformation has expanded Ineco’s capabilities beyond mobility, enabling the company to apply its engineering and consultancy expertise to new areas of public sector management. José Carlos Pérez Leza, Ineco’s Smart Administration, Data and AI Manager, discussed this evolution in an interview on Cibercotizante, a programme broadcast by Capital Radio.

Artificial intelligence, data governance, cybersecurity and citizen services delivered through multiple channels are all part of this area of activity. The aim is to connect the potential of technology with tangible improvements in public administration, whether by simplifying procedures, facilitating access to services or making better use of available resources through the application of emerging technologies.

During the interview, Pérez Leza outlined the path that has led Ineco to contribute to the modernisation of ministries and bodies within Spain’s General State Administration. The company’s work for the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, the State Secretariat for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, the State Agency for Digital Administration and Red.es reflects an activity that combines deep knowledge of the public sector with the ability to develop and implement technology solutions tailored to its needs.

This experience enables Ineco to address some of the key challenges shaping the digital agenda of public administrations: harnessing data as the fundamental unit of information to support better decision-making, incorporating ethical and responsible artificial intelligence, and designing more accessible and efficient public services. These challenges require not only technology, but also planning, process transformation and support for the professionals responsible for putting these changes into practice. In other words, they demand a strategic vision.

“Transformation is a much deeper concept than simply digitalising something,” Pérez Leza emphasised, highlighting that success depends to a large extent on change management and the active engagement of people.

The evolution of the market and the growing complexity of public sector challenges have also led Ineco to create Ineco Prisma, the company’s new strategic consulting division. “Ineco Prisma brings together, develops and expands Ineco’s capabilities in the strategic definition, design and evaluation of public policies,” Pérez Leza explained during the interview.

The Cibercotizante interview offers insight into a side of Ineco that broadens its contribution to the development of public infrastructure and services. Supported by the expertise of its teams and the experience gained alongside public administrations, the company is able to support both the definition of strategies and their implementation, helping to ensure that digital transformation delivers better outcomes for citizens.
