Ineco shared its expertise in the port sector with the presentation “Nature-based solutions as adaptation measures in State Ports”, delivered by Climate Change and Energy Transition expert Marta Gutiérrez.
Ineco has showcased its expertise in climate adaptation for ports at an international event held in Málaga. The company took part in the conference “Nature-based solutions and coastal restoration: Lessons learned from the application of the Global Standard in the REST-COAST Project”, a forum dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences in coastal ecosystem restoration and climate change adaptation.
The event brought together experts and organisations involved in the European REST-COAST project to review progress, exchange results and draw recommendations to support future nature-based restoration initiatives. Against a backdrop of climate change impacts, biodiversity loss and increasing pressure on coastal ecosystems, such approaches are emerging as key tools to enhance territorial resilience.
Within this context, Ineco contributed its expertise in the port sector through a presentation entitled “Nature-based solutions as adaptation measures in State Ports”, delivered by Marta Gutiérrez, an expert in Climate Change and Energy Transition. Her intervention highlighted the potential of these solutions to strengthen the resilience of port infrastructure in the face of climate change impacts.
The presentation addressed the main climate risks affecting Spain’s port system, including vulnerability to extreme events and rising sea levels. It also outlined several nature-based solutions incorporated into the State Ports’ Adaptation Plans, emphasising their role in protecting infrastructure, improving coastal ecosystems and boosting port resilience.
Ineco’s participation in the event underlines its commitment to developing innovative and sustainable solutions that support the adaptation of infrastructure to climate change while safeguarding the natural environment.
