Raúl Renales, an expert in IT Consulting and Cybersecurity at Ineco, has been awarded first place in the overall category of the international ESCIM CCI 2025–2026 competition.

In his winning scenario, the Ineco expert focused on one of the most relevant emerging threats: supply chain compromise. Through the simulation of an attack on a bottling plant, the work accurately reproduces the techniques used by malicious actors and proposes a comprehensive incident response approach in OT (Operational Technology) environments. Far from being limited to recreating the attack, Raúl Renales analysed its operational and security implications in depth, incorporating a complete response plan as well as measures for containment, recovery and strengthening system resilience. This approach reflects the growing need for anticipation and rapid response capabilities in industrial infrastructures.

The recognition of Raúl Renales highlights the importance of advancing methodologies that integrate prevention and response to increasingly sophisticated threats. Professionally linked to Ineco, this achievement also helps project the technical capability of the company’s specialised cybersecurity teams.

Organised by the Industrial Cybersecurity Centre (CCI), the competition brought together professionals from more than 20 countries around the development of advanced defence scenarios in industrial environments. The ESCIM CCI competition has established itself as a key forum for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in the defence of industrial systems.
