Ineco is strengthening its presence in the Valencia Region with the opening of its new office in Valencia, consolidating the area as one of the company’s main hubs of activity in Spain. From this region, nearly 300 professionals—almost double the number in 2021—manage strategic projects in the rail, port, road, airport and technological innovation sectors, supporting, among others, recovery works following the DANA storms.
The Valencia team brings together profiles from nearly twenty different disciplines, including civil and urban engineering, industrial, aeronautical and telecommunications engineering; architecture; geology; environmental sciences; and economics. This multidisciplinary diversity allows complex projects to be approached from a comprehensive and specialised perspective.
At present, Ineco continues to strengthen its capacity in the region with 12 open positions, mainly linked to rail projects—construction management and supervision, signalling, maintenance or risk management—as well as specialised roles in road engineering and geotechnics.
Key role in the response to the DANA and a multimodal vision
The Valencia Region is a strategic territory for Ineco: more than 25 years ago, the company began its activity here and has since participated in some of the region’s landmark infrastructure projects, such as high-speed rail and the Valencia access channel, the expansion of Joaquín Sorolla station; the modernisation of the ports of Valencia, Castellón and Alicante; the expansion of the Valencia and Alicante airports as part of the Levante Plan; and improvements to the State Road Network.
The new office enhances the capacity of this key team for Ineco, both for responding to extraordinary situations and for delivering structural projects. From this office— a benchmark in public engineering and consultancy—the company coordinates technical support for several emergency works activated after the DANA in the Valencia Region, including the construction project for the double-track extension on the València Sant Isidre section of the C3 line, and technical assistance for drafting the construction project for the outlet of the Saleta ravine and its connection with the new Turia riverbed, a major initiative to increase resilience in the metropolitan area.
The company also supports Adif in managing contracts linked to the most emblematic rail actions undertaken in the territory. Alongside this activity, the office oversees strategic assignments in the port, road and airport sectors, as well as advanced consultancy and innovation projects. These include support to the Port Authority of Valencia on several key actions, such as the remodelling of the rail yard at the Xità dock, the Master Plan for the Port of Sagunto, and drafting the climate change adaptation plan for the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía. This line of business is led from Valencia by technical public works engineer Pilar Valiente.
From this office, the company also provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to modernise the State Road Network; deploys ultra‑rapid charging infrastructure for electric vehicles; and takes part in European projects such as Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (ERJU) and SESAR JU.
Research and knowledge
Within the development of Ineco’s iCampus network, the company and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) launched a new observatory in 2024 aimed at identifying biases and potential barriers in mobility related to diversity.
The Observatory seeks to identify patterns and inequalities related to mobility and diversity; raise awareness of potential barriers; and foster reflections on inclusive mobility—using AI as an analytical tool.
The iCampus network is an innovative programme designed to promote scientific‑technical research, knowledge transfer and collaboration among experts from the scientific, technical and business communities.
Commitment to decentralisation
The new multi‑project office forms part of Ineco’s decentralisation strategy, which has been strengthened in recent years. The company has regional managers in Catalonia, Andalusia, Galicia and the Valencia Region, as well as nearly 100 offices in Spain and 12 across the globe.
Through this model, Ineco brings management and decision‑making closer to the territories where projects are developed, strengthening its technical capacity, its understanding of local contexts, and its commitment to the economic and social development of each community.
