Málaga hosted for the first time in Spain this Thursday the Imec Technology Forum (ITF Spain 2025), one of the most prominent international meetings in the field of nanoelectronics and semiconductors, organised by Imec, a global leader in technological R&D.
The event, which is held annually in locations such as Antwerp, San Francisco, or Taipei, brought together institutional representatives and industry leaders to discuss the challenges of the new digital era. The Spanish edition marks the launch of a strategic partnership between Imec, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the Government of Spain, aimed at establishing Imec’s first advanced R&D cleanroom outside Belgium, in Málaga.
During the day, Ineco presented to companies in this technological sector, as well as to the attending authorities, the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Junta de Andalucía, Amelia Martínez, and the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, the progress of the project driven by the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT).
The company has presented the design status and the planned capabilities of the future research centre, conceived as a hub of innovation in semiconductors and emerging technologies.
Ineco's participation in ITF Spain 2025 reinforces its role as a technical driver and manager of the PERTE Chip project, contributing to positioning Spain as a European benchmark in technological sovereignty and advanced digitalisation.
