The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, participated in Tech4Good 2025, the event organised by Retina, the content platform on innovation and digital transformation of the newspaper El País. The event brought together leading figures from business, academia and technology with a common goal: to explore how artificial intelligence can be put at the service of the common good.
During the round table moderated by Jaime García, director of Retina, the president of Ineco stressed that "digitalising the Administration of Justice, a process in which Ineco is involved, is not the same as digitalising El Corte Inglés", wishing to put the focus on "the firm steps" that the Public Administration must take in its transformation due to its "lower risk tolerance, as the social contract that sustains it may be called into question".
Strategic autonomy
The president of Ineco also stressed that "The Administration must be prudent. We can experiment with AI, but in a limited way and always guaranteeing fairness in public service" because we often have the feeling that we are "losing the AI race to the US and China, as if Europe were suffering from a kind of FOMO". In this sense, Ineco has been the first public company to join the Global Compact on Artificial Intelligence promoted by the European Commission and is actively participating in the European regulatory debates around the AI Regulation (RIA).
The event, held at the Phygital Gallery in Madrid, addressed the impact of artificial intelligence in areas such as climate, health, inclusion and equality, through presentations and round tables with leading figures from institutions, technology companies and academia.
