Ineco took part in VDS 2026, held in Valencia, participating in a roundtable discussion on the challenges of collaboration between corporations and start-ups. Ana Rodríguez,  Innovation Specialist at the company, joined representatives from the Wolaria accelerator, Santalucía Seguros and Eiffage to discuss what enables a pilot project to progress to implementation and the best practices that support that journey.

Ana Rodríguez outlined a model that combines three key capabilities: the expertise of Ineco’s professionals, the research carried out by universities and technology centres, and the agility of start-ups. The company brings these contributions together to develop solutions that address specific needs and can be deployed across projects and for clients.

The annual internal innovation call enables ideas to be gathered from across the workforce and supports their development. Through iCampus, Ineco connects its challenges with specialised research teams, fostering collaboration in areas such as flood analysis, railway resilience and wildfire prevention. Meanwhile, engagement with start-ups provides access to market-ready technologies and accelerates both prototyping and validation. The approach is built on a clear premise: for an initiative to succeed, it must be founded from the outset on a genuine need, a responsible team, clear validation criteria and a pathway to implementation.

VDS brought together start-ups, companies, investors and technology professionals. The event has established itself as a leading forum for sharing experiences and creating new opportunities for collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship.
