Ineco is once again joining Earth Hour, the global initiative now in its 20th year that symbolises the collective commitment to tackling the challenge of climate change. The action is simple: switching off the lights for one hour to highlight that 60 minutes can inspire 8,760 hours of action. At 20:30 on Saturday, 28 March, we will join millions of people, institutions and companies around the world in turning off the lights to spark a conversation about what truly matters: advancing towards decarbonised mobility, strengthening the resilience of infrastructure and accelerating the energy transition.
This global gesture underscores that the shift towards a more sustainable model is only possible through collaboration between public administrations, the business sector and society at large.
Innovation for Decarbonisation
In this context, Ineco has recently renewed its “Calculate, Reduce and Offset” certificates for 2021, 2022 and 2023. This recognition, accredited by the Carbon Footprint Register of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, reinforces the company’s commitment to climate action and continuous environmental improvement.
Participation in Earth Hour is also an opportunity to reaffirm Ineco’s pledge to a low‑carbon economy. The company operates with 100% renewable electricity backed by guarantees of origin, minimises its emissions, and continues to make decisive progress in measuring, reducing and offsetting its carbon footprint.
As a leading public engineering and consultancy firm in sustainable transport and mobility, Ineco works continuously to develop innovative solutions that contribute to the decarbonisation of the sector. Among these is the Energy Efficiency Strategy for the State Road Network, designed to significantly reduce electricity consumption and associated emissions in an infrastructure that is vital for the country’s connectivity. The company also promotes energy efficiency audits and decarbonisation plans in strategic infrastructures, integrating environmental criteria throughout all phases of the project life cycle.
Through initiatives such as Earth Hour, Ineco strengthens its role as a strategic partner to public administrations in the transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and innovative mobility model—making a tangible contribution to improving people’s quality of life and building a more efficient, low‑carbon future.
