Crucial to the Maghreb economy
Ineco has carried out a study to analyse the airport’s current problems, and the dimensions and design of the infrastructures needed to serve the growing passenger demand.
Mohammed V airport is crucial to Morocco’s economic activity.
Over seven million passengers pass through the airport and 90% of its air traffic is international, with routes to the Near East, USA and Canada, Africa and the major European capitals.
Diagnostic and functional analysis
Ineco’s team carried out a diagnostic and functional analysis of Terminal 1 which covers a surface area of 40,000 m² and Terminal 2 which currently covers a surface area of 66,000 m².
The project was divided into three phases. An initial phase, in which the situation was analysed and a diagnosis made, followed by a second phase in which the infrastructure needs were determined and alternatives proposed, and a third and final phase analysing the impact which the new development would have on these areas, with particular emphasis on Terminal 1.
Ineco’s expansion studies for the Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca have achieved new facilities able to cope with the future demands of passengers and aircraft.
