The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, visited the team of 27 professionals from the company currently working at the European Satellite Navigation Services Centre.

Ineco is part of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp) project, as a Core Member of the industrial group led by the Italian-German company SpaceOpal GmbH, which is responsible for operating the Galileo system under contract with EUSPA (European Union Space Programme Agency). Since 2017, Ineco has been in charge of the first level operation and maintenance of the operational systems deployed in the centre for the correct provision of its services, as well as the management of the Hosting services. Galileo is the European global navigation satellite system that provides worldwide, real-time services and is fully interoperable with other existing GNSS systems (such as the United States' GPS and Russia's GLONASS). Galileo offers two services that differentiate it from other GNSS systems: the HAS (High Accuracy Service), which allows high-precision positioning, below 20 centimetres, in real time for all types of civil applications, and an authentication service, called OSNMA, which guarantees that the data used for positioning come from the Galileo system and not from other sources.

Accompanied by Angel Moratilla, INTA's Deputy Director General for Space Systems, Sergio Vázquez Torrón toured the European Satellite Navigation Services Centre (GSC), located at INTA's facilities in Torrejón de Ardoz. Later, he also held a meeting with Lieutenant General Julio Ayuso, Director General of the institute.
