As part of Pride Month and reaffirming its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Ineco hosted an event this Thursday to mark International LGBTI+ Pride Day. A space to celebrate what has been achieved so far but also to reflect on the path we still need to travel towards a more just and inclusive society. At the opening, the president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, reaffirmed the essential role that diversity plays in the cultural transformation of the company: "We are already recognised for the deep respect we have for human diversity and this must drive us forward, because it makes us stronger and makes this workplace a more worthy space to share."

One of the highlights was the commemoration of the first anniversary of IRIS, Ineco's LGTBIQ+ diversity network. Since its introduction in 2024, IRIS has become an open, accessible and participatory space with more than 50 members, including people from the community and allies.

In this initial phase, IRIS has carried out various awareness campaigns and participated in forums such as Redi, connecting with other networks of national companies.

Recently, Ineco has reaffirmed its Best Company for All Talent seal, an award that highlights its active policy in favour of inclusion, equality, and visibility in the workplace.

A Testimony That Shattered Barriers

The event featured the participation of Pedro Jesús García, an active-duty soldier in the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and an activist for the rights of the community. With more than 20 years of professional experience and recognised with various awards for being an LGTBI role model, Pedro has shared an inspiring testimony about how he has fought for visibility and inclusion from within an institution like the Armed Forces. "Diversity is also defended in uniform. There is no greater bravery than being oneself in any context".
