Presentation of the conclusions from the discussion panels
Ineco has participated in the working groups for the Convention for a State Pact against the Climate Emergency, an event held in Ponferrada with the aim of bringing together the scientific community, the business sector, and young people to develop concrete proposals for a major national agreement on climate action.
The Convention, promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, aims to construct a State Pact against the Climate Emergency in a participatory manner, allowing for the establishment of stable long-term commitments to address the effects of climate change in Spain. Over several days, technical sessions, sectoral forums, and intergenerational dialogue spaces are held, addressing key issues such as energy transition, territorial adaptation, economic decarbonisation, or climate justice.
Elena Curto, Climate Change and Energy Transition manager at Ineco, has been part of the “Business Agora”, a dialogue space attended by more than 60 companies from different sectors. This meeting seeks to gather the visions, experiences, and proposals of the business fabric in relation to the climate emergency, to integrate them as a fundamental part of the future state pact.
Ineco has shared its observations on the essential role that companies play in the fight against climate change and has highlighted the main challenges facing the sector.
This vision is based on more than a decade of Ineco's experience collaborating with public administrations in the evaluation, mitigation, and adaptation to climate change, as well as its role in integrating sustainability criteria in strategic mobility, transport, and infrastructure projects.
The conclusions gathered during the sessions will form part of the final document of the State Pact against the Climate Emergency, thus consolidating the active contribution of the private sector to this nationwide participatory process.
