Ineco Highlights Female Talent on International Women’s Day: “Equality Is Not an Exception, It Is Our Commitment

March 6, 2026

Ineco has held the event “Equality is not an exception, defending it is our commitment”, a gathering organised to mark International Women’s Day that showcased the role and leadership of women within the company.

The event was opened by Ineco’s President, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, who emphasised the company’s commitment to genuine equality and the development of female talent at every level of the organisation. “At Ineco, we are at the forefront of women’s equality, and over 40% of our workforce is made up of women.”

In addition, nearly 46% of senior management positions are held by women, well above the IBEX 35 average, which ranges from 24.8% to 26.3%. The company also continues to make progress on pay equality: the gender pay gap stands at 9.4%, significantly lower than that reported by many major IBEX‑listed companies, 27 of which acknowledge disparities that can reach as high as 30%.

Ineco’s commitment takes on particular significance in the STEM field, where female representation remains a minority: in Spain, only between 29% and 32% of engineering students are women. At Ineco, however, more than half of its female professionals hold STEM qualifications, reflecting the company’s efforts to attract and develop female talent in technological disciplines.

Voices Representing Female Talent at Ineco

The event featured a panel discussion moderated by María Martín, digital communications technician and participant in the TAP programme, in which four Ineco professionals shared their experiences and career journeys. Participants included Jara Valbuena, Deputy Director of Communication and Brand Positioning, whose career reflects professional growth within the company; María del Carmen Beteta, Project Manager for the SE‑40 bridge; Nuria Albó, data scientist recognised in the LaIA 2025 List as one of the 55 leading women in the ICT sector in Catalonia; and Isabel Lax Orenes, engineer in Ineco’s Murcia team and one of the driving forces behind the Minerva initiative. Their careers show that every step forward, every achievement and every success story for women at Ineco is not the result of chance, but of a collective commitment to equality.

Empowering Internal Talent: New Editions of Mujeres IN and TAP

During the event, Ineco also announced new editions of two of its strategic talent development programmes. The Mujeres IN Programme, now in its eighth edition, has supported 75 professionals in their development and leadership within the company, achieving a satisfaction rating of 9.56 out of 10. Meanwhile, the TAP (Talent and High Potential) Programme will launch its fourth edition on 6 March 2026, offering innovative training that strengthens leadership and professional growth. To date, it has enrolled 75 participants—33 of whom are women—from Ineco’s workplaces across Spain, and has received an average rating of 8.61 out of 10.

With initiatives such as these, Ineco continues to strengthen its commitment to equal opportunities and the promotion of diverse leadership, convinced that equality is not an exception, but a necessary condition for building more innovative, sustainable and future‑ready organisations.
