With this initiative, Ineco reaffirms its commitment to engaging with society, especially the new generations.
Ineco participated in Open Gov Week 2025, an international initiative led by the Open Gov Week Alliance, with an event aimed at bringing public engineering closer to the public, especially young vocational students.
The highlight of the event was the Garaje Tech, a space where Ineco showcases its most cutting-edge technological developments. Attendees had the opportunity to see firsthand how an innovative idea is transformed into a concrete solution to advance sustainable mobility, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and climate change mitigation.
A Journey Through the Present and Future of Public Engineering
The event began with an institutional presentation by Cristian Carmona from the Human Resources Department, who introduced the company's activities, highlighting its commitment to young talent and Ineco's scholarship program. Following this, Víctor Bustos and Inés Ovejero from the Innovation department shared the company's vision regarding technological transformation and explained the role of the Tech Garage as an idea laboratory aimed at improving people's lives.
The most interactive part of the day was the showcase of Ineco's technological capabilities, designed to introduce students to some of the most innovative solutions developed by the company. Organized into small groups, participants explored different areas where company experts explained, in a clear and engaging manner, various projects that incorporate emerging technologies. These included the use of satellites for terrain monitoring and infrastructure risk prevention; the application of digital twins in airport environments; human factor analysis through biometric technologies to detect fatigue or stress levels; and the potential of drone flights, demonstrated through audiovisual simulations.
A Strong Commitment to Talent and STEAM Education
With this initiative, Ineco reaffirms its commitment to engaging with society, especially the new generations, by promoting vocations in socially valuable STEAM disciplines. The company aims to demonstrate that engineering can be a transformative tool with a direct impact on people's well-being, planetary sustainability, and the design of future cities.
Furthermore, this activity reinforces the principles of Open Government (transparency, accountability, integrity, citizen participation, and collaboration) in line with Ineco's role as a public entity of the General State Administration.
Open Gov Week, held from May 19 to May 25, seeks to bring public administrations closer to citizens. Through initiatives like this, Ineco consolidates its position as a leader in technological innovation applied to public services and as a bridge between government, society, and education.
