Ineco is accelerating its position as one of the major technology partners of the Public Administration in a sector that is key to the national economy: tourism. The company is strengthening its collaboration with the State‑owned Company for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies (SEGITTUR), which is part of the State Secretariat for Tourism, by actively participating in initiatives linked to the digital and sustainable transformation of the Spanish tourism model.
Through this strategic alliance, Ineco contributes its technical expertise, its capacity to manage complex projects, and its experience in modernising public policies, accompanying the sector in one of the most significant structural evolution processes in its recent history.
From quality to sustainability and smart tourism
One of the pillars of the collaboration is the evolution of the Spanish Tourism Quality System in Destinations (SICTED) towards a Comprehensive Tourism Sustainability System (SSTI), which places environmental, social, economic and governance criteria at the heart of the tourism model. Ineco provides technical assistance for its design and implementation and supports the technological re‑engineering that will ensure an orderly transition with no impact on destinations and businesses.
At the same time, the company is working with SEGITTUR on the rollout of the Smart Destinations Platform (PID), the largest public digital infrastructure for tourism in Spain, based on cloud, data and artificial intelligence. Integrated within it, the Open Innovation Platform (PIA) creates a collaborative ecosystem with a sectoral data space, sandbox and marketplace to accelerate innovation.
The collaboration is rounded off with support for the development of the Tourism Intelligence System (SIT), which enables public administrations and businesses to make decisions based on advanced data, as well as technical support for the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI). All of this is complemented by support in training programmes on innovation, accessibility and sustainability to strengthen the sector’s human capital.
A public partner for the modernisation of the State
With more than 170 professionals dedicated to the management of Next Generation EU funds and over 500 specialists driving the digital transformation of the Justice system, Ineco has positioned itself as one of the main providers of technological services to the Public Administration. As an in‑house provider of the General State Administration since 2008, the company combines regulatory knowledge, technical capability and strategic vision to support public bodies in high‑impact initiatives.
The collaboration with SEGITTUR thus reinforces Ineco’s role as a key player in the modernisation of Spanish tourism, a sector that represents more than 12% of national GDP. A national project that champions data intelligence, open innovation and sustainability as drivers of economic growth and territorial cohesion.
