One of the key moments during the president of Ineco's intervention

October 1, 2025

The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, participated this Wednesday in Global Rail 2025, the international fair held in Abu Dhabi to bring together the main railway stakeholders.
Sergio Vázquez Torrón took part in the main round table in the auditorium alongside leaders from companies such as Alstom, Siemens Mobility, AECOM, and Systra. This forum addressed the challenges of executing high-speed projects within the planned deadlines and budgets, highlighting the role of collaboration between administrations, investors, and operators, as well as the use of emerging technologies to improve efficiency and transparency. Therefore, Vázquez Torrón pointed out that “technology is important, but what is really critical to meet time and budget is the ecosystem between the institutional and private sectors,” in addition to emphasising the importance of “the management” of these projects.

Ineco's participation has been framed within its renowned trajectory in the development of the Spanish high-speed network, the most extensive in the European Union, which has combined technical excellence, economic efficiency, and sustainability. In this regard, the president of Ineco has emphasised that "Spain is a global reference, but there is no single recipe that can be exported to other places: each country must find its own path considering its particularities." Another remarkable aspect of his intervention has been the appreciation of talent in the public sector, "key in the development of the Spanish high-speed model, an example of competitiveness and efficiency."

Technological innovation and interoperable signalling

For her part, Silvia Domínguez, expert in railway systems at Ineco, also participates in the technical session dedicated to railway signalling, with the presentation “Unlocking the Potential: Lessons Learned from ERTMS Implementation and Evolution in Rail Industry Digital Signaling.”

Silvia Domínguez will share key learnings on the implementation of the ERTMS system, an essential component for advancing towards a more digitalised, interoperable, and secure railway network.

An agenda focused on international collaboration

During the three days of the fair, the Ineco team maintained an intense schedule of bilateral meetings in search of new collaboration opportunities and with the aim of strengthening ties with the main players in the international railway transport sector.

Global Rail 2025 brought together more than 300 exhibitors from 40 countries and 15,000 leaders and specialists in the sector, establishing itself as a key space for sharing knowledge, driving innovation, and reinforcing the global projection of Spanish engineering.
