Ineco participated in the round table "GIS in transport infrastructure digitisation strategies", held as part of the Esri Spain 2025 Conference, together with representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, AENA, ACCIONA and the buildingSMART Spanish Chapter.

Alberto Milanés de la Loma, Consultancy, Environment and IT Director, highlighted Ineco's role as In-house entity of the State Administration in digital transformation, applying technologies such as GIS, BIM and digital twins throughout the entire life cycle of infrastructures.

Milanés pointed out that Ineco has integrated GIS in a large part of its projects, both in the planning, design and maintenance of infrastructures and in the development of customised technological solutions. Examples such as SIOS, the web GIS environment for the visualisation of ADIF's High Speed Network assets or the ERTMS viewer or the BIM-GIS integration in the New Central Road of Peru have demonstrated this capacity.

Milanés also addressed the challenges of data interoperability, the data economy and the advance towards solutions supported by artificial intelligence and machine learning, which Ineco has already incorporated to optimise processes such as the design of the linear layout and predictive maintenance of infrastructures.

The Esri Spain Conference has established itself as the main meeting forum for professionals in the geospatial and infrastructure sector, bringing together experts from public administrations, companies and academia for two days to share experiences, success stories and technological innovations applied to the digital transformation of the territory and mobility.
