The president of Ineco, Sergio Vázquez Torrón, received the Greek Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, this Friday for a working meeting at Ineco's headquarters in Madrid, where the Greek minister was able to learn first-hand about the role of Spanish public engineering and consultancy in the field of infrastructure, maintenance, and railway technology. The meeting is part of an official visit by the Greek delegation to Spain, where they also held meetings with the Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano, as well as with the presidents of Adif and Renfe.

During the day, Ineco experts shared the Spanish railway management and maintenance model, and the automatic train protection systems (ERTMS), in which Spain is a leader.

This meeting consolidates the institutional ties between Spain and Greece in the railway sector and continues the visit made by the Spanish delegation to the Hellenic country last July. Ineco has been present in Greece since 2014, where it has participated in three projects in the aeronautical sector, all linked to the development of Kasteli International Airport on the island of Crete. The company thus adds more than a decade of active presence in the country, consolidating its vocation for international cooperation and knowledge transfer.

Model of success
In the railway sector, Ineco has been involved in the complete development of the Spanish High-Speed network and throughout the entire infrastructure cycle, from the initial design stages to current maintenance. As a result of this experience, the company has been able to export the Spanish model beyond Spain, establishing itself as a leading engineering firm in the development of high-speed rail in other regions such as the Middle East, thanks to the Haramain project. In Europe, collaborating on British and Polish high-speed rail, among others or in Australia, participating in the feasibility study of the line between Sydney and Newcastle. Technologically, Ineco also leads in ERTMS support, actively collaborating in its deployment in Europe.
