During their visit, the delegation was able to tour the facilities of Imec, a leader in research and development of semiconductor technologies. The centre has advanced 300mm chip prototyping laboratories and will have a centre in Spain, in the city of Malaga. Ineco is responsible for the integral management of the project, with strategic advice from IMEC, of the new Centre, which aims to meet the growing demand for new technologies in crucial sectors such as medicine, photonics, quantum computing and augmented reality.

Within the framework of the meeting, the first Project Advisory Council was held, which provides a forum for strategic decision-making and explored opportunities to promote cooperation in the field of research and innovation.T
he president of Ineco highlighted the importance of this project within the framework of PERTE Chip, pointing out that the collaboration with Imec, whose track record, alliances and knowledge make them unique in the world, will enable Spain to take a giant leap forward in the semiconductor sector.
