The project, delivered by Adif High Speed with works supervision by Ineco, marks further progress in the rail connection of a key piece of infrastructure for the Galician port system
Works on the railway access to the Outer Port of A Coruña have reached a new milestone with the arrival of a track-laying train at Punta Langosteira, enabling the completion of the 6.7 kilometres of track that will connect the dock with the Atlantic Corridor.
The project, delivered by Adif High Speed with works supervision by Ineco, represents a further step forward in the rail connection of a key piece of infrastructure for the Galician port system. The new access, intended exclusively for freight traffic, will allow the transfer of solid and liquid bulk traffic that is still operating at the inner port to the outer port, while also improving logistical capacity and facilitating the entry of new operators.
At the same time, the Port Authority is advancing the development of the port’s internal railway network, whose design and works supervision are also being carried out by Ineco to adapt it to current needs. This infrastructure will complete the operational capacity of the complex.
The railway connection between the outer port, the inner port and the general rail network is scheduled to be completed later this year.
