Ineco is responsible for drafting the construction projects to renovate the facilities of the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET)

From 2022, Ineco is responsible for drafting the construction projects to renovate the facilities of the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) at Adolfo Suárez-Madrid-Barajas, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Palma de Mallorca and the eight airports in the Canary Islands.

In order to comply with the Single European Sky regulations, which require the continuous improvement of its products and services, AEMET is renovating and modernising its facilities and information systems with the support of Ineco.

Wind direction, runway visibility, temperature and atmospheric pressure, humidity or cloud cover are critical to the safety of air navigation and have a direct impact on operational decisions. Therefore, both the new equipment and the network architecture have been designed to be compatible with the current integrated meteorological system (SIM) and with the new version (NSIM) under development. AEMET is the state authority responsible for providing meteorological services in support of air navigation in Spain.
