Ineco, together with Airbus, Linde, Lufthansa Technik, Iberia, Honeywell, ENERSENS and Cryospain, are members of the advisory board of the H2ELIOS project led by the Spanish company Aciturri.

The aim of the project is to manufacture and test the first demonstrator of a liquid hydrogen tank for aviation, with a storage capacity of up to 150 kg, which enable the validation of an innovative hydrogen storage concept, devised by Aciturri, and reach a TRL5 technological development level in (technology validated in an industrially relevant environment) by 2025.

H2ELIOS will demonstrate the possibilities of structural integration of this type of storage tank in an aircraft, minimising the weight impact of the use of hydrogen as fuel. In this regard, it will also be a reference for the development of more ambitious projects in a second phase of Clean Aviation, the European Union's flagship research and innovation initiative to transform aviation towards a sustainable and climate-neutral future.
