Functional design for Schiphol Airport's new South Terminal
The Spanish-Dutch consortium KL AIR, formed by the architects Kaan and Lamela and the engineering firms ABT and Ineco, is carrying out the new functional design for the new south terminal of Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport.
After the impact of COVID-19 on airport traffic, Schiphol decided to change the functional design for the Airport's South Terminal. The new design, which fits with the one previously drafted, must have a modular development of the new terminal building, adapted to the future needs of the airport and allowing the optimization of the necessary investments.
Ineco's consulting work will focus on the sizing of the different areas of the Terminal Building, the establishment of a concept of operations for the terminal and the analysis of the requirements that will be the basis for the future design of the Terminal Building.
