Snapshot of the forum hosted in Madrid
Ineco participated in the first Urban Air Mobility Forum organised by the Madrid City Council, to bring together experts from the public and private sectors with the aim of discussing the future of air mobility in urban environments.
During the panel dedicated to infrastructure, environment, and citizen acceptance, Ernesto de la Fuente shared analyses alongside representatives from the Madrid City Council, IDOM, and SENASA.
Ineco represented the SIAM cluster within the Aeromobility Commission promoted by the Madrid City Council. The conclusions of the working groups have been compiled in the "White Paper on Urban Air Mobility in Madrid" presented at the event.
In this regard, De la Fuente stated, "establishing collaborative projects like this is important to continue promoting Urban Air Mobility." This way, the needs of all parties involved can be identified, an appropriate roadmap can be defined, and efficient and optimal solutions can be proposed.
Recently, SIAM, under the leadership of Ineco and with the support of authorities, public and private entities, has driven the drafting of the White Paper on Vertiports, which gathered challenges and requirements to be considered during the sessions on the regulatory framework, planning, design, construction, and operation of vertiports.
Thanks to these initiatives, regulatory and technological development, "an ecosystem has been created that will require the will of the authorities for the next steps as well as precise coordination," De la Fuente highlighted.
This first forum provided a strategic platform for dialogue on the city’s potential to become a benchmark in the integration of urban air mobility solutions. The event also emphasized the critical role of institutional coordination in ensuring the viability of these technologies and fostering public acceptance.
