Ineco Launches DiGAV, an Innovative Tool for Maintaining Railway Tracks

November 14, 2025

Ineco has developed a new visual inspection system for railway track maintenance called DIGAV (Graphic Inspection Device for Track and Switches). The project, coordinated by Héctor Sanz, High-Speed Maintenance Manager, leverages AI technology to automatically identify, detect, and assess any visible defects in the railway superstructure.

DIGAV uses artificial intelligence, applying regulatory patterns to process collected data and automatically pinpoint issues such as missing components, incorrect positioning, or platform clearance checks, among other verifications.

Equipped with ten stereoscopic cameras, DIGAV can generate 3D models, enabling full visualization of the rail from any angle and precise measurements on these models. This represents a major qualitative leap compared to traditional inspection methods for track condition assessment.

The device operates at speeds of 3.5–4 km/h, reducing track inspection times by 30–40% while significantly improving the quality of graphic and analytical data collection.
