Our representatives in this edition
Ineco has been present at the Transport Engineering Congress (CIT 2025) with two presentations that addressed, from different approaches, key issues for the future of transport infrastructures, both in Spain and in the European sphere.
José Ángel Fernández Gago and Federico Collado Pérez-Seoane have presented the results of a doctoral thesis in progress, based on two previous scientific publications. The work applied machine learning techniques to characterise a 12,000-kilometre European Hyperloop network, evaluating unique structures such as viaducts, tunnels, and underwater sections. It also analysed the economic impact of its construction, including the estimation of materials, resources, and labour required, and concluded with an assessment of the overall CAPEX needed to deploy this futuristic transport network.
The second presentation, "White Paper on the Economic Management of Transport Infrastructure in Spain", was delivered by Javier Anibarro García and Javier González Caballero. It presented the development of a strategic document with a critical vision on the governance and management of state infrastructures (roads, railways, airports, and ports). The study integrated the experience of professionals in the sector with economic analysis and international recommendations, covering all phases of the infrastructure life cycle and taking into account the legal, institutional, financial, and economic context.
The Transport Engineering Congress (CIT) is a biennial reference meeting in the Hispanic sphere that brings together professionals, researchers, and institutional representatives to discuss the main technical, economic, and environmental challenges of transport. In its 2025 edition, the CIT established itself as a key forum for the exchange of knowledge in mobility, planning, technological innovation, and infrastructure, strengthening the link between the academic and professional fields.
