Ineco present at the major annual meeting of the air navigation industry

For yet another year, Ineco has participated in World ATM Congress, which held its fifth edition in Madrid, from 7 to 9 March. This event, organised by CANSO in association with ATCA, brought together the main air navigation service providers in the world and from the aeronautical industry.

Íñigo de la Serna, Minister of Public Works and Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, were in charge of opening this event. The Commissioner highlighted in her speech the importance, within the Single European Sky strategy, of a management of journeys that reduces to the minimum the limitations of the air space organisation thanks to a progressive increase in the level of automation, the implementation of virtualisation technologies and the use of standardised and interoperable systems. Challenges that “are founded on a resolute commitment to technological innovation”. Lastly, she indicated, in relation to climate change, that thanks to the recent agreement in Montreal, a CO2 emission market system will be established for international flights, which will create a limit that will make it mandatory for companies to provide compensation when they exceed it.

The Minister for Public Works announced the submission of Spain’s application, through Carmen Librero, the current secretary general for Transport of the Ministry of Public Works, for the position of director general of EUROCONTROL.

Subsequently, both visited, along with Julio Gómez-Pomar, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, and President of Enaire; and Carmen Librero, the joint stand of the Public Works Group (Ineco, ENAIRE and SENASA).

At this conference, Ineco furthermore presented two technical talks on the IMPULSE project and on Smart solutions applied to UTM services.

In addition to our participation in the reorganisation of Spanish air space, our company has significant international projects, such as the design of flight procedures for Oman, the development of the air traffic strategy in Egypt or the new GNSS services centre. This experience makes us a reference company in the sector.
