Aula Carlos Roa, in its commitment to the world of transport, held its sixth conference for reflection and debate on Thursday, 22 January. On this occasion, the focus was on the demand for air transport.

The Conference, chaired by Ineco Tifsa Chairman Juan Torrejón and Secretary of State for Transport Fernando Palao, was moderated by Marcos García Cruzado, Group Advisor to the Chairman's Committee.

Arturo de Benito, Senior Lecturer in Air Transport at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, participated as the main speaker and gave his presentation on "Air transport demand. Evolution and outlook". Vueling Operations Manager José Luis Quirós, Ineco Tifsa Airports and Air Transport Department Manager Carlos Amigo, RENFE Northeast High-Speed Business Area Manager Alfredo Durán, AENA Planning Studies and Techniques Development Manager Marta Torres (in substitution of AENA Infrastructure Planning Manager José Manuel Hesse) and others also offered their points of view.

Much of the debate revolved around the controversial topic of the competition/complementarity between air and high-speed transport, intermodality as the fundamental key to the future development of transport infrastructure and the effects of the current crisis on the sector.

As on previous occasions, the Aula will publish a book that will compile all the presentations made during the debate.
