The Spanish high-speed consortium between Medina and Mecca, made up of 12 companies, has appointed Ineco Chairman Pablo Vázquez as its top representative.

Pablo Vázquez enters the consortium board of directors as the representative for Adif, one of the 12 public and private companies in the group that was awarded the contract for the project, with a budget of €6.736 billion.

With this appointment by the public companies participating in the operation (Ineco, Adif and Renfe), the Ministry of Public Works wants to “reinforce its presence and commitment to this significant project; the largest international contract awarded to Spanish companies.”

Meanwhile, Manuel Benegas, who was until now the chairman of the consortium, remains fully involved in the project as the Medina-Mecca project director at Ineco.
