The Chairman-CEO of Ineco, Jesús Silva, together with the Infrastructure and Transport Managing Director, José Manuel Tejera, and the business delegate in Europe, Sergio Navarro, have met in Turkey with representatives from the Ministry of Transport. During the meeting, they analysed possible opportunities for co-operation, as well as highlighting Ineco's role in the work carried out in the country, both on the high speed rail line between Istanbul and Ankara and supervising the modernisation of the rail line between Samsun and Kalin.

Accompanied by the Spanish Ambassador to Turkey, Rafael Mendívil, and the economic and commercial advisor, Aurora Tarruella, the Ineco delegation in Turkey also met with a delegation from the European Union, as well as with our local partner, the rail company UBM.

Turkey is midway through an ambitious transport plan to be finished in 2023, their centenary year. This programme includes expanding their 11,000 kilometres of existing rail line to 26,000 kilometres, constructing 25,000 kilometres of new motorways, a third airport in Istanbul and a third bridge on the Bosphorus, as well as expanding the Istanbul metro system, among other things.
