The president of Ineco, Carmen Librero, was awarded the Grand Cross of Aeronautical Merit with white decoration by the Council of Ministers on 27 December, on the occasion of the celebration of the Military Holiday.

The Grand Crosses of Military, Naval and Aeronautical Merit were created on 3 August 1864, 3 August 1866 and 30 November 1945, respectively.

These are public and individual recognitions awarded to members of the Armed Forces and the Guardia Civil for the performance of actions and deeds or the rendering of services of outstanding merit and importance, as well as to civilian personnel for meritorious activities related to the national defence. In the case of civilians, when justified by the institutional, administrative, academic or professional rank, the person receiving the award may be Spanish or a foreigner.
